6 Month Check Up

Ava's new favorite toy... the spatula

Today was Ava's 6 month well check at the Pediatrician. She weighs 13 lbs 14 oz (12th percentile) and she is 25 3/4 in long (40th percentile). She is a little girl... we need to get a little more meat on her! But we think she is perfect and she slept from 9pm last night to 9am this morning!! Thank you Stephanie for letting us borrow those sleep books they are helping so much!!

Ava's Half Birthday!

Yesterday was Ava's half birthday (she turned 6 months old for those of you who don't know what that is) and we decided we needed to celebrate! Actually it was just an excuse for me to make a cake and practice my cake decorating (which has been greatly lacking).
Since it was her "half" birthday I made a half cake (I stole the idea from a friend). It was a lot of fun to do though. (And no we aren't going to celebrate every half birthday she ever has.. just this one)
Here is the happy half birthday girl with her daddy
And with her mommy
Isn't she so cute! She doesn't have teeth even though this picture kinda makes it look like it.
Waiting to eat the cake...
Going for it...
She got it!! No I didn't let her eat the cake even though she pulled some fast ones on me and got some of the fondant in her mouth before I could stop her... But I did let her take a chunk out of it with her hands.
Another reason to celebrate yesterday was after Ava's orthopedic doctor appointment yesterday where they told us she didn't have to wear her hip brace at night anymore!! YAY!! No more brace forever!
Happy Half Birthday Ava!!

HELP!

How do you make someone this cute....
Do more of this at night?
Ava used to be so good at sleeping at night but
I don't know what happened... I think ever since we moved to Arizona she wakes up at 1:30am, 4:30am, and then 7:30am!!! Every 3 hours and I know she can go longer because she used to. How do you teach a baby to sleep through the night again? Or even to just take out that 1:30am feeding... I am sleepy...

New Stuff...

This is the sign I made at a friend's house last week. I designed it and she cut the vinyl lettering for it. I decided I needed a place for us to hang our keys instead of leaving them on the counter. Thanks for all your help Jen!!
This is Ava's new highchair! Now that we are introducing her to solid foods (kind of..) we needed a place for her to eat. It even matches her car seat which we were excited about.

Ava likes to throw toys off of it (as you can see from the toy on the ground). She is so funny!!

Ava Laughing

This was too cute not to post. This is the hardest she has ever laughed... We need to find out where they got that shark :) We only got a few seconds of her laughing but she went on for a while. She thought it was the funniest thing ever to have that toy shark attack her!

I am The Biggest Loser!

For our Enrichment Activity we had Bette-Sue from the Biggest Loser come and talk to us. She was a lot of fun and definitely held my attention for the 2 hours that she spoke to us about her life, her experience on the TV show "The Biggest Loser" and the importance of the gospel in our lives. It was a lot of fun and I am so much of a loser that I got a picture with her :)!

Labor Day!

For Labor Day we went to the Diamond Backs game with our friends Jesica, Chris & McKenna. We had a lot of fun! This is how Ava spent her time... She must have been bored because she fell asleep.
The group!
The Stadium
Ava & McKenna (little twins) not wanting to miss the game
Ava sleeping :)
Thanks Jesica & Chris for letting us go to the game with you!! We had a great time! Sorry about the disappointing dinner choice though - the non Cafe Rio taste alike restaurant...Boo!! It sure had potential though.
